Amber, a Lakeview resident, has dreams of entering the fields of Political Science or International Relations. To achieve her goals, she understood the importance of excelling academically. Since the sixth grade, she was on the High Honor Roll, a member of the National Honor Society and was elected as Student of the Month. In addition, she received recognition from the Nassau County District Attorney with the SHIELD Award for showing outstanding strength of character, commitment to self-growth and providing positive change in the community.
Always staying proactive, she ventured into many different activities to showcase her talent. As a teenager in Malverne Senior High School, she excelled academically and participated in several extra-curricular activities. Some of which included the Marching Band Color Guard and Winter Guard, and Junior Varsity Cheer Leading. She also used her passion for law to start a school debate club.
Amber frequently uses her deep-rooted desire to help others by actively participating in community service activities. Because of the significant impact she made through the many hours that she dedicated to being a Girl Scout, she earned the Gold Award, the highest honor to receive in the Girl Scouts. She also led collection drives to assist with the gathering of winter accessories, blankets, groceries and other necessities for local organizations such as the Mary Brennan Inn and the Long Island Salvation Army. She also volunteered her time canvassing the neighborhoods to encourage individuals to vote in the primaries and assisted at the Lakeview Public Library by restocking shelves.
Presently, Amber is studying Political Science as a Sophomore at Adelphi University. Still excelling academically, she is a member of the Honors College and Levermore Global Scholars program where she is currently leading a social justice project on Long Island. In addition to maintaining academic excellence with a 4.0 GPA, Amber interned as a journalist for the Long Island Press.
