ABOUT THE FUND
After many years with National Grid, Patricia spent her last year as a passionate “Loaned Executive” from National Grid to United Way of Long Island, and worked full time in the organization since January 2017.
To honor Pat’s commitment and tireless efforts, the Michels Family and National Grid, along with United Way of Long Island, launched The Patricia Michels Memorial Scholarship Fund. This Fund provides academic scholarships to deserving young women attending YouthBuild Long Island who wish to pursue their dreams and aspirations by attending an accredited college, university or technical school.
Pat was fond of working with young people through YouthBuild to advance their skills, education and leadership qualities in order to gain self-sufficiency. Pat touched the lives of colleagues, friends and acquaintances and the Fund is a meaningful way to give back to a cause that meant so much to Pat. Please consider a gift to support this effort.

Charitable contributions to The Patricia Michels Memorial Scholarship Fund may be made online or mailed directly, payable to: United Way of Long Island, 819 Grand Blvd., Deer Park, NY 11729. Please add The Patricia Michels Memorial Scholarship Fund on the envelope and on the memo section of your check.
The Patricia Michels Memorial Scholarship Fund is a permanently restricted endowment fund that is being managed by United Way of Long Island, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt not-for-profit organization.
