United Way of Long Island recently elected Dr. Anthony Santella to its Board of Directors. Dr. Santella currently serves as Associate Professor of Health Professions at Hofstra University’s School of Health Professions and Human Services teaching in the Master of Public Health and LGBTQ Studies programs. He is also the current Chair of the Nassau-Suffolk HIV Health Services Planning Council, an all-volunteer council that promotes the development of HIV/AIDS services that meets the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS that is administered and staffed by United Way of Long Island.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my role with United Way of Long Island by joining their Board of Directors,” said Santella. “I look forward to bringing my passion for public health to the table, and making a positive impact on the thousands of Long Islanders United Way helps each year.”

Dr. Santella earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and a Doctor of Public Health in Health Systems Management from the School of Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. He is also a Certified Health Education Specialist. He lives in Oceanside, NY.
