United Way of Long Island is pleased to announce that Debbie Mullarkey has joined the organization as Vice President of Resource Development. In her role, she is responsible for revenue growth and cultivating leadership donors, partnerships, and workplace campaigns.
Debbie brings more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, which includes pursuing grant awards, marketing rebranding, and overall fundraising efforts. She most recently served as Executive Director at CAPS/Bully Prevention Center. Immediately prior to that role, she served as a Director of Development at a victims’ services agency where she was instrumental in fundraising efforts and in securing significant local and government grants.
“I look forward to building upon the strong foundation of United Way of Long Island,” Debbie said. “This position allows me to impact a large demographic and connect individuals with the support services that they so desperately need.”
“We are pleased to welcome Debbie to United Way of Long Island. Her extensive knowledge and experience with social service organizations make her an important asset to our team. I am confident that we will continue to make major strides in our organization’s growth.” said Theresa A. Regnante, President & CEO of United Way of Long Island.
Debbie’s affinity with United Way began early on in her career as a donor, followed by taking on the role of workplace campaign captain within multiple organizations. With her years of experience with the organization, Debbie says the transition to her new role will feel seamless.
Debbie resides in Kings Park. She has two children, Tyler and Marley, and furry family member, Penny. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York Institute of Technology.
