On Saturday, August 18, the First Annual Hamptons Hoops Academy Charity Event was held in support of United Way of Long Island. The event drew the interest of kids from all communities thorough Long Island who are basketball enthusiasts. What made the day so special is that Hamptons Hoops Academy offered 20 children aged 7-16 to have the opportunity to attend the Academy on scholarship.
In coordination with United Way partner agencies, youth from Wyandanch Homes and Property Development Corporation, Girls Inc. of Long Island, the Hicksville Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area took part in a basketball clinic at Amagansett Sportime Multisport Facility with NBA Basketball player Rondae Hollis-Jefferson of the Brooklyn Nets. Following the clinic, the kids all enjoyed bowling, mini golf, arcade games and bocce ball at a Family Fun Fundraiser at The Clubhouse at East Hampton Indoor Tennis Facility.
Thanks to partners and sponsors NYC Surgical Associates, EGA Medical and Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Hampton Hoops Academy was a success!
