Long Island Business, Labor & Employment Council Career Fair

 

 

United Way of Long Island empowers people to get on stable financial ground in order to create thriving communities where everyone has more opportunity to succeed. In that spirit, a free career fair will be held at the Wyandanch Family Life Center in Wyandanch on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

This career fair is a result of the efforts of United Way of Long Island’s Business, Labor & Employment Council. This is an initiative which brings local businesses and training programs together with the not-for-profit world in order to create career development opportunities on Long Island.

All are welcome and no registration is necessary. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resume and come prepared to interview, on-site, with the over 30 companies and organizations expected to be on hand.

About The Long Island Business, Labor, & Employment Council
The Long Island Business, Labor, & Employment Council is a United Way of Long Island initiative dedicated to engaging employers and training providers in order to develop systems, employment competencies and career building opportunities for Veterans and youth on Long Island. The council is comprised of local companies and organizations which have committed to providing internships, on-the-job training and job shadowing opportunities which lead to full time employment for Long Islanders. The goal is for these opportunities to help close the gap between the skill set of the workforce on Long Island and the skills necessary to succeed in the modern workplace.
