April 12, 2021 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island was awarded a $225,000 grant from The Banyan Tree Roots Foundation, based in Smithtown. This generous contribution will support the organization’s education programs, as well as pandemic recovery efforts. 

UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND RECEIVES $15,000 FROM AT&T TO SUPPORT CAREER TRAINING PROGRAM FOR YOUNG ADULTS THROUGH PANDEMIC

December 1, 2020 (Hempstead, NY) – AT&T today announced a $15,000 contribution to United Way of Long Island’s YouthBuild Hempstead program, which helps prepare young adults, ages 16-24, to find jobs and succeed in the workforce through educational, leadership and career training.

United Way of Long Island in Partnership with Citi Hosts Hackathon to Find Solutions to Help Veterans Advance their Civilian Careers

United Way of Long Island recently hosted a one day Hackathon, in partnership with the event sponsor Citi. Participants, mostly military veterans who are enrolled college students, collaborated to develop a solution to help veterans successfully transition into the civilian workforce. 
 

The Nature’s Bounty Foundation Grant to Support United Way of Long Island’s Efforts to Promote Healthy Lifestyles

United Way of Long Island is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from The Nature’s Bounty Foundation supporting the Healthy Kids – Healthy Families Initiative, as well as United Way’s Stuff-A-Bus school supplies program.
