United Way of Long Island recently hosted a one day Hackathon, in partnership with the event sponsor Citi. Participants, mostly military veterans who are enrolled college students, collaborated to develop a solution to help veterans successfully transition into the civilian workforce. 

 

Capital One recently granted funds to United Way of Long Island for its YouthBuild Long Island program. 

 

National Grid recently granted United Way of Long Island $125,000 for its signature programs including Project Warmth, VetsBuild and YouthBuild Long Island. 

 

United Way of Long Island is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from The Nature’s Bounty Foundation supporting the Healthy Kids – Healthy Families Initiative, as well as United Way’s Stuff-A-Bus school supplies program.
