United Way of Long Island recently elected Dix Hills resident Virginia Umbreit to its Board of Directors. Virginia is Vice President of Portfolio Administration at First Long Island Investors, LLC (FLI) in Jericho. She has been with the company for 16 years, where her responsibilities have included all aspects of client service.
Prior to her position at FLI, Umbreit served as an Assistant for an international money manager at Schroder’s Investment Management Services, and earned her B.S. from the University of Rhode Island.
“I am pleased to have the honor of serving on the board of United Way of Long Island,” said Umbreit. “It is so important that all children, teens, and young adults have the opportunity to succeed and I look forward to making a true impact in the lives of young people across the Island with this inspiring organization.”
Umbreit is also on the Board of Directors of Melville House, which provides scholarships to college students who have above-average grades and are in financial need, as well as mentoring students throughout their college years.
