United Way of Long Island recently elected Steven G. Santino to its Board of Directors. Santino is a Senior Vice President, Senior Growth Manager at People’s United Bank, where is responsible for leading a branch network on Long Island of 69 branches and a team of over 350 retail banking employees.
Santino joined People's United Bank in 1988 and has advanced through positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently he led integration efforts for two strategic acquisitions by People’s United Bank, including 27 Suffolk County National Bank branches after being acquired in 2017, and before that a network of 57 Citizen’s Bank branches in 2012.

In addition to sitting on the Board of United Way of Long Island, Santino is the Finance Committee Chair for Life’s WORC and a Board Member of Mentor New York and Leadership Huntington.
Santino received his bachelor's degree in communications from the Southern Connecticut State University, his master's degree in industrial relations and a graduate certificate in Human Resources from the University of New Haven. He also graduated from the National School of Banking with honors.
