LONG ISLAND YOUTH SCORE OPPORTUNITY ON THE COURT AND GET COACHING TIPS FROM NEW YORK KNICKS LEGEND JOHN STARKS

Hamptons Hoops Academy Charity Event benefits United Way of Long Island and nearly 20 boys and girls who love the game

On Saturday, August 17, the Second Annual Hamptons Hoops Academy basketball clinic was held in partnership with United Way of Long Island. The event drew the interest of kids who are basketball enthusiasts. The day was made extra special because Hamptons Hoops Academy offered nearly 20 children aged 7-16 the opportunity to attend the clinic on scholarship.

In coordination with United Way partner agencies, youth from Wyandanch Homes and Property Development Corporation and SNUG Wyandanch were treated to a basketball clinic with coaches from the New York Knicks at the Amagansett Sportime Multisport Facility. The kids were in awe when they met professional NBA shooting guard and New York Knicks legend John Starks who spoke with them about team building. After the clinic, the kids enjoyed lunch on the beach followed by bowling and arcade games at The Clubhouse at East Hampton Indoor Tennis Facility.

Thanks to partners and sponsors Douglas Elliman Real Estate, MUZIK, NYC Surgical Associates, Suffolk Transportation Service, Inc., and TAO Cares, Hamptons Hoops Academy was a success!
