United Way of Long Island recently elected John L. Mackey to its Board of Directors. Mackey is the Regional Vice President of Enterprise Holdings where he supervises the day-to-day operations of more than 40 car rental locations across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. He is accountable for his region’s development, revenue, cost control, and fleet planning. Mackey also oversees the employee management and personnel initiatives of more than 250 employees in his region, and actively influences the market share of Enterprise holdings.

I take great pride in making a difference in people’s lives, and United Way of Long Island is the perfect place to do just that,” remarked Mackey.

His commitment to giving back is prevalent. Mackey has been an active member of various organizations in Chicago, Atlanta and Milwaukee, including United Way and Urban League.
Mackey received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Morehouse College in 2005. He is married to his wife Raven and has two children, Reese and John Jr. In his leisure time, Mackey enjoys golfing, travel, and exploring his new home of Long Island. He lives in Westbury.
