The Brentwood PSEG Long Island Robotics Workforce Club completed its first competition season, building and competing with two robots. Students met this engineering challenge throughout the year with dedication, passion, and many late afternoons and evening build sessions.
Both teams made it to the semi-final round of competition and were only one round out of qualifying for the state tournament. This first-year achievement was a great accomplishment!
To continue the exciting momentum, Club members will be introducing robotics to students in the Life Skills program through weekly lessons and Friendship Club activities. They have also designed and implemented a training session for VEX123 robots for Brentwood Elementary Teachers and are hard at work developing activities for the High School’s STEM Carnival.
Because of PSEG Long Island, Brentwood students are gaining a hands-on learning pathway in technology, computer science, and engineering that propels them forward and inspires innovation.
