On June 21st, Purolator International participated across the country in the annual United Way Day of Action. Making a difference on a company level and regionally is an important part of the Purolator International culture. The employees strive to give back locally to the communities where they work and live. Several branches across the country participated in this Purolator Gives Back (PGB) event. The Long Island, NY, headquarters team, worked hand in hand with employees from AHRC Nassau at the Brookville campus restoring the fountains and garden areas surrounding the AHRC Day Treatment Horticultural Center and painted the greenhouses that support the program.
AHRC Nassau, a community partner agency of United Way of Long Island, supports 2,200 individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities through a wide array of supports including residential services, adult day habilitation and community-based services, vocational and employment services, guardianship, family support services and recreation opportunities.
Purolator International employees packed and delivered meals in Atlanta, worked in a shelter in Charlotte, sorted donations and wrote letters for a girl’s shelter in Dallas, cleaned the Boys and Girls Club in Houston, planted gardens and did special needs therapy work in Miami, planted gardens and packed meals in Raleigh and cleaned and power washed the Adult Care Center of Chester County outside of Philadelphia.
