Town of Babylon employees welcomed representatives from United Way of Long Island & its YouthBuild Long Island program at their annual holiday party. In 2014, the Employee Giving Campaign raised $5,000. Through this collective action, much is accomplished and lives are improved within the town and all across Long Island. Theresa A. Regnante, CEO and President of the United Way of Long Island, recognized Supervisor Schaffer and his campaign manager, Gerry Compitello, for their efforts. The Deer Park Marching Band and Choral Group provided the entertainment for the festivities. Supervisor Schaffer was also presented a certificate of appreciation for his participation and support of Wyandanch Rising and the United Way of Long Island’s YouthBuild Program. Support from The Town of Babylon allows YouthBuild Long Island students to re-build their lives by guiding them towards earning their TASC Diploma while providing them hands-on job training that will prepare them for a career in. The YouthBuild Long Island program also affords innovative career opportunities, to students, offered by program partners. Students representing the Town of Babylon were in attendance to personally extend their appreciation to Supervisor Schaffer and employees for their support.
