UNITED WAY HAS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SYEP) THANKS TO BANK OF AMERICA

syepUnited Way of Long Island was awarded a $75,000 grant from Bank of America for its Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). This program provides high school and college students from diverse Long Island communities with paid internships and hands-on career training. There were 33 students employed with 21 nonprofit host agencies in communities throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties this summer.

Hartford Funding's Team Franzese Contributes $5,000 to Benefit United Way of Long Island as a Result of Cars & Coffee Networking Event

THE BOUNTIFUL COMPANY AWARDS $30,000 GRANT IN SUPPORT OF UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND’S NUTRITION EDUCATION INITIATIVES

Check picThe Bountiful Company, a Nestlé Health Science Company, has awarded a $30,000 grant to United Way of Long Island to support the nutritional health and wellness of families on Long Island. The grant will be used to provide nutrition education to families with school-age and pre-school children, offering educational tools and services for over 100 children.

UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND RECEIVES $125,000 FROM THE SIEMER INSTITUTE

February 22, 2022 (Deer Park) – The Siemer Institute has awarded United Way of Long Island $125,000 to provide navigation services to families with children who have difficulty maintaining self-sufficiency and have risk factors that can lead to homelessness.  “The Family Support Project” will help families reach long-term stability with the goal of preventing academic disruptions for children by helping families move from crisis to stability.  

ESQUIRE BANK SUPPORTS UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND WITH $25,000

February 14, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) – United Way of Long Island was awarded a $25,000 grant from Esquire Bank, based in Jericho, NY. This generous contribution will support Long Island families with fuel neutral heating assistance through Project Warmth. Funds will also support the Stuff-A-Bus program, ensuring equity and building confidence in students through its school supplies initiative.

UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND RECEIVES $10,000 GIFT FROM STERLING NATIONAL BANK IN SUPPORT OF YOUTHBUILD

picJanuary 19, 2022 (Deer Park): United Way of Long Island has received a $10,000 grant from Sterling National Bank, in support of YouthBuild.  A signature program at United Way, YouthBuild primarily serves young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 who lack a high school diploma and financial resources.
