April 12, 2021 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island was awarded a $225,000 grant from The Banyan Tree Roots Foundation, based in Smithtown. This generous contribution will support the organization’s education programs, as well as pandemic recovery efforts.

Project Warmth Emergency Fuel Fund Provides Relief
Town of Hempstead Supports Seniors through 354k Grant
Hempstead, New York (November 17, 2020)—The Town of Hempstead has launched a new initiative with United Way of Long Island in an effort to further protect senior citizens from COVID-19. The $354,492 grant approved by Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin and the Hempstead Town Board will fund the installation of 560 portable medical-grade HEPA air filtration units in at-risk seniors’ homes as well as some doctor offices.

October 22, 2020 (Deer Park) – Over the past months, United Way has responded to the needs of Long Islanders experiencing unparalleled hardship. Through United Together: A Response Fund for COVID-19, nearly 10,000 families in Nassau and Suffolk Counties have received financial assistance.
