January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Westbury resident, Dana R. Boylan, Esq., former Executive Director of Nassau County’s Office of Youth Services, to its Board of Directors.  In her immediate past role, she was responsible for funding, providing fiscal and administrative oversight, supporting youth development and prevention programs for over 40 nonprofit agencies.  

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Wheatley Heights – Half Hollow Hills resident Darryl Clark, Corporate Vice President and Associate Partner of Wallace Eannace to its Board of Directors. Darryl brings his leadership skills, creativity, compassion and knowledge that has enabled him to be known as “The Creative Thought Scientist”.
 

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Baldwin Harbor resident Magdalonie Paris-Campbell, Area Manager of External Affairs at AT&T Services, Inc., to its Board of Directors. She manages all External Affairs activities on Long Island, including working with local governments and enhancing AT&T's presence within various Long Island communities. 

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Smithtown resident Dr. Sylvia A. Diaz, Executive Director of the Suffolk Community College Foundation, to its Board of Directors. Her extensive history and tireless efforts with her foundation, “Pathways Renewed", has allowed her to become a powerhouse in the industry.   
 

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected East Williston resident, Aaron Choo, Vice President of National Grid’s Downstate New York Gas Field Operations and Programs to its Board of Directors. Aaron has held several operational and leadership positions throughout his 20-year tenure at National Grid and its legacy companies.  
 

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) – United Way of Long Island recently elected Port Washington resident Will Kim, Assistant Vice President of Product Management for GEICO, to its Board of Directors. His 16-year career with GEICO began in Woodbury, New York, as a Customer Service Management Trainee. His hard work and dedication allowed him to relocate to GEICO’s headquarters in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) – United Way of Long Island recently elected Traci Shelton, Advocate at Options for Community Living, to its Board of Directors. Traci Shelton currently serves as the Chair of the Nassau-Suffolk HIV Health Services Planning Council and had served as the Vice-Chair of the Planning Council from 2019 to 2021.
 

January 7, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) United Way of Long Island received a $5,000 contribution from first-time supporter United Capital Source based in Garden City.  Funds were directed to the nonprofits’ Stuff-A-Bus program that supports students of underserved families, with the tools needed to have equal access to education and enrichment

January 5, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) The Allstate Foundation recently gifted United Way of Long Island with a $10,000 Helping Hands Grant. The contribution came as a result of a team of Allstate employees initiating a volunteer project with United Way of Long Island’s Stuff-A-Bus program.

Bay Shore resident and U.S. Army veteran Thomas DeKenipp has crossed the finish line in the TCS NYC Marathon and raised over $3,100 for United Way of Long Island’s veterans’ programs.   The nonprofit was named an Official Charity Partner of the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon, which took place on Sunday, November 7, 2021.
